A Shaker style Lap Desk that I made for my eldest grandson. The spalted Pine grain is awesome! Zoom in and look! (3rd photo) It has bread board ends and hand cut dovetailed corners. Lid has brass flap stay and hinges

Love Shaker. This is a classic design, yet still quite functional in the day of Laptops, and Tablets. Plus quite a bit of storage right there. Nice build.
Nicely done

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

well done ! yeah the grain is awesome. nice work on the dovetails !

working with my hands is a joy,it gives me a sense of fulfillment, somthing so many seek and so few find.-SAM MALOOF.

Hey... thanks muchly Pottz!
Really cool design!
Having the lid work as a tablet rest and using a groove versus a lip to hold the tablet base is a clever solution (avoids "stuff" protruding far above the top surface when closed.

Wood is amazing and joinery is A+
Thanks SplinterGroup !!
I like everything about it except the left breadboard end—the front spot looks like it has a splotch. Maybe it’s just the way the picture came out but as inexpensive as good pine is….
good looking and very useful at the same time well done

Ron

Hey Gary.... the splotch as you call it is the actual spalting. Sorry it bums you out.
Thanks 987Ron and BB1 !
Nicely done, looks like it will be useful for him.
Thanks MikeB_UK.... it should be good for him. I know he likes it.
