Lazy Susan for Pine Cone Epoxy Ring

This is the lazy Susan base for my experimental  epoxy ring with embedded pine cones that I made in Arizona. It is made out of 6 pie shaped pieces of mesquite with a strip of maple in between each of them. The bearing is recessed .200" into the base to  hide it. I cut a concave radius around the bottom for ease in picking it up off a table.

I added a shot of how I joined the pieces. I use bungee cord a lot for clamping pressure.

Great color! Very nice…

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

Great combo Jim!
I like how you recess the bearing, hate those things when you can see the bearings through the gap.
Great looking and a use for pine cones that are otherwise a real bother.

We should all send our "spare" pine cones to Jim. I hear they are rare up there in MI 🤠
Very Nice Jim....The Cones look great as well.

Regards......Cliff.
Nice, Jim! The mesquite is a decent match for the pine cones.

May you have the day you deserve!

Thanks for all the nice comments.

Hey Bruce, I have thousands of them in the back field and my neighbor has a ton of them too. His are a little larger. I have just cut some of each in half in preparation for the next project, if it ever warms up enough to pour epoxy!!

Now that right there was pretty funny. Made me laugh.

My Sis lived in Temperance for a while (North Toledo) I would drive up to Cabelas maybe 20 miles North, kinda in the sticks. For most of the drive all I passed were multi acre blocks of land filled with all sorts of Pines, Spruce, Fir, anyhow an endless supply of pine cones.

With Jim's rate of production, he'll be running out soon.
That is a pretty cool look.  The pinecones look like creatures.
Thanks, Swirt. They told me in Az that they looked like scorpions
