RACK FOR WOOD TURNING CHISELS

Greetings to all Craftisian's.

I have at last found a solution to storing my Turning Chisels and having them handy to my work.
The Racks are made from a very hard word...Nice and Sturdy....I also have a table on wheels to place behind me where selected Chisels are placed....Nice and Handy....while turning.
The Racks have a hole drilled with a Forstener Bit at the appropriate diameter for the Particular Chisel being used.  A slot for entry was cut and the Chisel sits very happily in the Rack.
The Rack is mounted on the wall with brackets.

Very simple project, but it makes life much easier.   I do have another photo of a rack with more chisels, but the photo sits on its side for some reason.  So I didn't add this photo.

Kind regards and Happy and Safe Woodworking.......Cliff.

Solid utilitarian fix 👍🏼

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

Secure indeed, escape proof!
RyanGi  Thank you....Regards.....Cliff.

Cool solution C'O'... and a decent set of chisels...

Hope there set up near the lathe and not in a spare room... hey, I err "have a friend" who did that once... I believe he err argued that the chisels stored away from the lathe didn't make as big a mess.

If your first cut is too short... Take the second cut from the longer end... LBD

Thank you Mr Duck...That's about half of my Chisel Armory. The other photo was on it's side when I tried to put it on site.

The Chisels are just to the left of the Lathe...Out of harms way in case a piece of wood flies away.

Interesting thought about storage in a spare room.  Hmmmmmm  I'll  ponder on that this evening over a coffee and a slice of fruit cake.......I feel sure if I did something like that.  Some folk would suggest I was worthy of Scatological Examination.

Thank you, thank you, than you... for not posting a sideways picture... However, they can easily be rotated with most photo editors that are freebies either with Windows/Mac/WEB.

Wait till you build your next stool.

I have to do this.  The mag bar is not working well

Good on ya,mate!

I see that you are a Robert Sorby kind of guy, me too.

You don't always get what you go after, but you do get what you wouldn't have got if you didn't go after what you didn't get. Blaze Foley

I don't turn, but I can spot a fix that works. I see great easy to identify the many different cutting tips you have but for me the most important is this will protect your sharpened cutting edges. Unlike how I often store chisels I do use, thrown into a container, box, whatever where everything is beating up everything else.

Nice build.
Nice organization! Keeping it simple is so often best.
LittleBlackDuck.....Next Stool....I'm working on it!!!!

BB1...Thank you.  I agree, nice and simple.  I was using a magnetic bar for awhile, but I had to be very careful I didnt dislodge them.
