PLATTER MADE FROM STRIPS OF VERY OLD HARD WOOD

I have a fair amount of very Old Hard Wood stacked away.  So I cut some strips of different woods and glued them together.  Then after cutting them round on the Band Saw, I turned the Blank on the Lathe and made a Shallow Platter.  Maybe I could put Salami and Cheese on it as it would be too flat and shallow for Nuts.

I applied several Coats of Polyurethane and sanded between each coat except the last coat.

Nicely done Cliff

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

Really a good idea, and well done.

Wonderful! Super clean. I've got a lipped tilt-top in my near future, so I'm looking closely. Nice work!

crowie...Hi Peter,
Thank you.  Yes I agree , nothing like old hardwood. Surprising the grain and figure found in old wood.
