My Finished Rabbet Moulding Plane

This is my completed brand new Rabbet Moulding Plane!
If you remember I made a previous post making a prototype for this:

It's beautiful!!

The upper portion is made out of Spalted Maple. The wedge out of Hard Rock Maple and the bottom out of Beech (I think).
Finished with 3 coats of GF's oil based Gel Topcoat satin and then one thorough coat of wood butter.

Here's a YouTube link where you can hear (sound on) the sweet sound and see it in action!

Cheers!

Thanks Pottz! I'm very pleased with it.
Well done!

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

Thank you kindly Ryan!
Hey Tom... thank you kindly!
Actually having it able to use chisels off the shelf seems like a great idea for those of us without the gumption to saw up our plane blades!

The radii on your cutter retainer looks perfect for making nice curly's 👍
Thanks SplinterGroup!
I kept the prototype one for if I choose to use my chisel. But my chisels are the sweethearts and I don't care for removing the handles.
Nice job, looks & works great.

BTW - If you shape the bottom of the wedge to an angle it should send the curls out of the side escapement and you won't need to keep clearing the mouth.
Thanks Mike. Yes I know that but sometimes it still doesn't work as good as I expect. I have an extra wedge. I'll give it a try again.
