More repurposed Lumber

This is the box I made from the walnut plank that I resawed for the previous box bottom.  On this one tho I sliced off a couple 3/16" pieces of curly maple and glued them for the top, bottom and inner guides.  The green tinted resin is visible with the end picture showing thru. The side was blocked by the inner lid guides.
This walnut is the tainted, marred, scarred or maybe just mineral growth absorption before the tree was harvested and I have to say, I've never had walnut a dark nor black streaked like this batch.   Whatever it is, it makes for a magnificent appearing piece of lumber.

The walnut does look good, having the fill gives it a personality, very cool!
Nice job on a challenging piece of wood!
good as the other box if not better, both excellent

Great details on that!

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

Love the fill, it adds character, and is a talking point on top of a nice looking piece of Walnut. The Maple is the right amount of contrasting bling. Nice box Dick.
i like it Dick, well done.

working with my hands is a joy,it gives me a sense of fulfillment, somthing so many seek and so few find.-SAM MALOOF.

Thanks for all the comments and thanks for looking
This batch of walnut is distressed to the point of no return to most crafters BUT a lot of you know that I’m not one of those crafters.
I’ve got a bunch of Russian olive that’s got character like that, Dick. If it didn’t make me sneeze, I’d probably use it more often.

May you have the day you deserve!

I know what you mean Dave - sometimes walnut dust makes my nose run like an open faucet
