Shoes in their place

Tired of tripping over shoes by the door from out garage (the entry we always use).  Had already built this (picture below), but needed a spot for few more.

Picked up the idea online but used a dowel for the front.  Back and sides are plywood. Painted for simplicity and to match the other.  Fits nicely behind the door that leads to the main house.
Not high craftsmanship, but "should" help with organization.

Anything that helps with organization is a good build in my book!

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

I like the idea, we have shoes everywhere and are always soccer kicking them out of the way. Now if the dogs would wear shoes (and take them off when coming in), I'd make one for every entrance to the house 👍
That's much more space-efficient. These kinds of project are fun. They don't require a lot of planning and come together in little time, but make daily tasks so much easier.
Ryan - hopefully will help...as long as we use it!
Splintergroup - the tripping over shoes was what prompted this!
Ron - I based some of this on what I saw online, and thankfully shifted the dowel rid a bit closer to the back as any more distance and the shoes wouldn't stay in place.  That would have been disappointing!
We have shoes next to three of our five doors that lead outside. A pair for me and my sweetie at two doors, and three pairs for me, and three for her at the garage door which we use most often. I may need to ponder this to see if I can make some solution for near that door…

May you have the day you deserve!

Hardly anyone has just one pair of shoes anymore, and the Hoard needs a place to roost so as not to be underfoot, not worn, just a trip hazard.

I like both versions for what they are, but the fav is the doweled one. Also using a piece of hardly used real estate, that area just inside a door opening.

Nice builds Barb, smart and useful.
Sometimes function is just as important as anesthetics
987Ron - thanks!

Dave - amazing how shoes just multiply!  If you build something, please post as I'm always looking for organization ideas

GeorgeWest- hopefully this gets the floor just for walking!

Corelz125- not winning any design awards for sure!  But should work so I'm happy.

Petey - thanks. Looked up ideas online and then put my version together.  So far it has been working for us.
