Desk

We downsized after retirement so I needed a smaller desk. I found one online and saw the price - Holy Cow!!  So I built one.
The base is simply construction 2x4's (I'm a cheap sucker) milled down to eliminate the rounded corners, and the top was an unfinished cabinet top from a flooring store. I cut it down to the size I needed. The finish is mat-polyurethane (about 5 coats) & a linen white enamel for the base (just slightly off-white). It took about 3 days start to finish.
That is a rock solid table! How did you fasten the top?
You could put a super computer on that!
Made to last, like it.
well done sparky, love the look. i like your shop space too.
id also like to invite you to join me and some friends on my forum, pottz patio and garden. we just talk about anything anyone wants to talk about.

working with my hands is a joy,it gives me a sense of fulfillment, somthing so many seek and so few find.-SAM MALOOF.

Nicely done!

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

Good design.  Looks good

The top is fastened with thread inserts and furniture bolts thru the 45 degree gussets seen in the frame photos. You can see the holes in the photos.

Beautiful and very sturdy at the same time, very nice.
