Wizards Tobacco Pipes

I thought I would try to make a pipe just to see if I could. I made these two and yes I smoked them. Had a few challenges with the stem and getting the holes lined up in the bowl. No turning on these. Just cutting and shaping. I don't have a lathe.
The stems were split and a small groove routed in them, steamed, bent around a jig, clamped and glued back together with a weed-eater string in the groove to keep it open. I pulled it out after the stem dried. Sorry about not having photos. I always forget to take pictures.

I also carved the wooden bowl in the photo using a power carver bit on a hand grinder.
wow , now that is woodworking on a different level im not familiar with !

working with my hands is a joy,it gives me a sense of fulfillment, somthing so many seek and so few find.-SAM MALOOF.

Nicely done

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

Like the pipes.

That's a pretty nifty trick to make the stems! Looks like it was a fun project.
Love the shot with that pic, makes it look like an alcove in a Castle with Uncle Rory keeping an eye on the Pipe stash. .

If they smoke, you win, because they couldn't look any cooler. :-)
