Computer Stand

I changed my computer set up and needed to raise my monitor, so I built this little stage.
The spalted wood was covered with defects but it looked good to me, so I wanted to use it for the top. I cut out all the defects and filled the cracks with CA.
I was trying to eliminate places that have to be dusted, so it’s only as big as it needs to be.
I just bought a new laser and tried something new to me. I used the laser to cut the braces as well as the mortice in the legs. It came out perfectly and was a fun experiment.
The leg design needed something so a few skewers and a beveled cut added some interest.

Nice stand John. That top is a Charlie Brown looking chunk of wood, what with it's diseased and spalted look, but it needed a place to show off, and this works well. Like those leg braces, and using your laser is kinda cool. Nice build.
Win win with building to the size and purpose you needed AND using a really unique piece for the top.  Nicely done!
Form and function 👍
Always a treat to see you combine woods!
If you need a monitor stand it might as well look awesome!

Nice job.
Nicely done!

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

Nice attractive stand. It sure looks better than the one I made!

I like the simplicity and at the same time, I like how it's not simple. Very attractive piece.
