Laser Puzzles

I started my holiday gift making last month by making some puzzles on 3mm ply for friends and family. I used Illustrator to design the pieces and my laser to cut it all out. I even made a few for some very little kids.
I have one more planned, the Bubble Bath (love this pic) and I'll make it a 18x24 puzzle with 200 pieces. With all the bubbles it should take quite a while to finish.

These are such great gifts!  So nice to personalize with the family pictures.

another jigsaw/puzzle tragic.

Do you use self adhesive paper to print onto?   How do you keep the laser's fingerprint off the pictures?

Do you have access to a jigsaw pattern generator or is it a static pattern that you manipulate randomly over the print...

So many questions... ever since I've been playing with jigsaws/puzzles, I haven't had the pleasure to interrogate...

anyone.

If your first cut is too short... Take the second cut from the longer end... LBD

great gift idea john.

working with my hands is a joy,it gives me a sense of fulfillment, somthing so many seek and so few find.-SAM MALOOF.

Thanks everyone.
Alex I use spray glue to adhere the photo. I don't get any charing or evidence that the laser leaves behind. Using 3mm plywood makes them so they should last a long time, but I think the next few will be using poster board so they will be like the puzzles you can purchase. I didn't like anything I found on line, so I created the pattern in Illustrator. I have a SVG file for 9, 15, 36, or 99 pieces I have them made and if anyone wants files let me know.
I happen to have a dog that smiles, so that one makes me laugh.

They finished up great without the laser marks... I get a lot of laser marks... maybe it's just because of the MDF.
I use low adhesive stick on laser masking tape,

however, it's a pain removing it after the cut.

Poster board sounds interesting.

I wouldn't mind a copy of your SVG files, if only to expand my jigsaw arsenal.

FAIW, if you are now aware of it, this link is a great site to generate customised jigsaw aptterns... the only down side is that the pattern is the same though the layout is seed generated.
The HEX creates an interesting jigsaw.  The pieces are subtly different and when the same shape, the picture would be different.  Unfortunately my sample is not G rated for posting here.
