Just a Box

I built this box to keep wifey's nail file and clippers off her new table.  Used a chunk of 8/4 walnut 2.75"x1.75".   Ripped sides and bottom to 3/8" thick.  Rabbeted the sides to accept the bottom.  Finished with 4 coats of Shellac.  Glued it  all up using a strap clamp.

Put adhesive backed felt pads to protect the table top.

Kept me busy for awhile.

These simple project are often the ones that get used the most. Nice job!
A place for everything, and everything in its place…

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

Nice!  Little projects like this will be appreciated.  I made a low bookcase for a friend and then a small organizer so the top wouldn't get marred.  He often comments on the organizer which was a so simple compared to the bookcase!
Pottz, Steve, Ryan & BB1,

The box is sitting on my last posted project "New Table for My Wife" from August 29, 2024.

The box is 2.75" x 9.75" x 1.375".

The table it sits on is 17" x 27" x 24.5" tall.

Nice box!   Serves a purpose well.

That's a great size! Looks good with the miters to match the table.

When I got married, I was told NO when I asked about the use of floss and toe nail clipping at the dinner table.
This may be a solution to my banishment.  🤔
Ron & Splinter G,

It holds everything and no sharp edges on the table.
