Mini tool boxes for some kids Christmas

Saw thee tool boxes in a Woodcraft Magazine.   Down sized them for a couple of  8 year olds in the neighborhood.
Butternut, 3/8 inchc thick.   Boxes are 12 inches long by 6 inches wide.   Edge of the compartment is 3 1/2 inches with the overall height 6 inches.     Box joints on the corners cut on the router table using an Incra Jig.   Finish is 3 coats of poly.   Hinges I found on Amazon.
Fun little project getting the slanted top angles right.

Great boxes, love the hinges, look like little bats.
I liked your design enough to set about working it into a container to hold the necessary accoutrements for a young lady who has discovered the new hobby of crochet. Enough room for all tools & materials required and space for a number of finished projects as well. My thanks for posting the original. I look forward to seeing what your imagination produces in future.

Some of my most creative moments have been when I've had to cover up an error in my woodworking.

Good upgrade to the boxes, mine were my rendition of ones in Woodcraft Mag.
Thanks for the comments.

Wow.  I missed this post when it was new.  I know that had I gotten that as kid, it would still be one of my prized processions today, even if I wasn't a tool person.  That is an heirloom that will still be around 100 years from now.  Fantastic.
