Wall Cabinet

Here is a small wall cabinet made from my old TV Cabinet about 5 years ago. All New Zealand timbers except the Rosewood back panel. Hand planed Kahikatea coopered doors, steamed spalted beech drawer fronts and Rimu for the carcase.
Plans were from Fine Woodworking article.

More storage is always a good thing!  I've never heard of kahikatea or rimu.  The former looks a bit like hickory on the door fronts.
nice cabinet, i love that wood used on the doors.

working with my hands is a joy,it gives me a sense of fulfillment, somthing so many seek and so few find.-SAM MALOOF.

Nicely done!

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

Beautiful cabinet! Does the front has a concave curve to it?
Kahikatea is an old world coniferous podocarp only found in New Zealand. It was used widely for food storage crates - most NZ timbers are softwoods. The English called it White Pine buts it’s not really a Pine
Yes, the front is concave along the entire face, with the doors coopered (from single pieces) to match.

If your first cut is too short... Take the second cut from the longer end... LBD

Very nice cabinet!!!
