Pagoda Style Jewelry Boxes in Wenge, Padauk and Birdseye Maple

With two granddaughters coming up in age (they're 8 now), I thought it'd be a good idea to make them some jewelry boxes, and these were given to them for Christmas, yesterday (2024).  I opted for this design because I thought it'd be an interesting build as it required some 5 or 6 different jigs to execute it.  Also, I was thinking that since these two are cousins who are close in age, I wanted the boxes to be of the same style to avoid any envy.  The only difference was in the color/species of wood used.  Both used Birdseye Maple for the drawers, but the main accent wood on one of the boxes was Wenge and the other was Padauk.  All in all, it was a Merry Christmas for them!

Looking most fine with some neat details 👍
I'm sure they were thrilled Alan, great "starter" boxes (because they'll need a few more as they get older) 🤠

Best get started 😀
Those are really cool! Nicely done.

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

Great looking boxes very well done.   Love the design.
Be careful with boxes for the girls.   Girls in.my family expect it every Christmas, call it a tradition.  I had no say.
You won't have a say either.   it is good.

What wonderful gifts!  Very special.

I'm partial to the bird's eye maple and wenge version.  Nice details. Diagonal drawer slides and corresponding notches in the drawers, splines, and contrasting handles.

Another exceptional work!  Design is beautiful.  I too like the drawer slides and pulls.  I have been thinking of those pulls for some time now.
