Music Stand

Recently completed this music stand for my daughter.  Grabbed the plans from Woodsmith and pretty much followed them. Base is walnut and the music plate is cherry. With this project, I really tried to capture the best grain orientation with the cherry and I thought I was able to do that with the quartersawn grain.
Turned the knobs myself and found that I was a little rusty with the lathe.
Overall I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. Only made a couple mistakes, but you probably wouldn't know unless I pointed them out.  Finished it with two coats of tung oil. Not my favorite finish, but it did the job.   Comments or questions are welcome.
Beautifully done!  Lovely combination with the cherry and walnut
Agree, nice job.

Looks good Steve!

Does the top pivot as well?
Nicely done!

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

Yes, the top can pivot as well.  Here's a pic of the back.  Here I was trying to see if the ambrosia maple would look good for the music plate.  Ultimately I thought it would be too busy for this project.
Got it, thanks!
I now see the answer to another question, the opposing slots in the column extension/base make for a very solid grip.
