Clamp Reorganization

Due to back issues, I can no longer reach up high easily.  Up to this point, I have used a steel beam in my shop for many clamps and high on a wall for others. .I needed to make changes and started out looking at various clamp racks on the web.  I tried several varieties and ended with a horizontal bar type and made five to hold about 46 c clamps and 7 small f clamps.  These work well and hold a lot of claims in a convenient manner.

Next, I built a rack on the back wall to hold 8 Bessey, 9 med to long Quick Clamps,  and 21 pipe clamps.

I left my 13 woods crew clamps up high as they are not frequently used

I have 38 Quick Clamps scattered around the shop attached to the edges of benches were they are used frequently.  Of course, I have corner clamps, strap clamps, spring clamps, cabinet clamps, etc squirreled away in drawers and cabinets.

Among all the clamps are some really nice cast iron c clamps along with some Harbor Freight ones.  Truthfully, the Harbor Freight ones work quite well.

Save the back!   Looks like you are doing fine with the reorganization.

your proving the point you cant have to many clamps birds ! 😁

working with my hands is a joy,it gives me a sense of fulfillment, somthing so many seek and so few find.-SAM MALOOF.

You can never have enough clamps definitely seems true to me. My entire garage and shop is a French Cleat system. To date I have not found any method more efficient. I can quickly move any shelf or bracket anywhere on the walls with ease.
I agree with the French cleat method.  If I was younger and redoing my shop, that is what I would do.  It is just so flexible!!

While only a dolt would argue against the adage of "never enough clamps"... it's the elite few that manage to brag about enough clamp storage space.
The previous owner of my workshop was a "lead glasser" and he had a long storage rack for his glass panes along one wall.  The edge of the rack turned out ideal for my clamp storage and in relatively easy reach,

however, not being one of the elite, am running out of space quickly and finding any nook and cranny for any over population,,

even the bottom of my jointer,

Since I made some modified handscrew kits, they are my least forgotten clamps and in easy reach,

for those odd jobs where other clamps just wont cut the mustard.

If your first cut is too short... Take the second cut from the longer end... LBD

Nice Birds!   Love organization....and LBD...you did well too....

I love organizational projects. That is great to have them all where you can easily access them!!!!!!!!!!

Do we need a clamp storage forum?

Nice job. I try to have my "working clamps" roll to the work, but if you have enough of them, some wall hanging is a must. At least I haven't seen a rolling set up except an A frame, that could pack much of anything. A friend built a square 4 winged affair, first time he pushed it it fell over, total mess.
Getting clamps organized is a game changer. Nice job on getting them reorganized.

My homemade clamp rack. I can get 6 to 8 on each rack

My Woodpecks clamp rack.

I like to come out from the wall to save wall space these hold 6 clamps each.

I like your approach Petey. All mine are handing from the lower shelf and at first it was fine, but now I'm beginning to double stack
