My grandson's book cabinet.

It came to my attention that I never posted this project, which was the reason for one of my prior posts: A project within a project. There I showed in detail how I created moldings with molding planes, thus the project within this bookcase project. Also by plane was the decorative bead trim across the front of each shelf.

At the top of the two columns is a 4 X 4 decoration that I created on my lathe. The columns were made with a router, I couldn't figure out how to do stopped flutes with molding planes.

The photos included here show the finished bookcase, a couple in process photos, and the top crown upside down, the topic of the first post. Not much else to say, except that at my age my mind seems to be slipping away.

Thanks for looking.

I love the trim work you did, really puts the class in classy!
Very classy,  excellent work.

Looks good to me Tom!  I would do stopped flutes with a moulding plane the same way I do stopped chamfers.
Very nice, Tom. Way to class the joint up! ;-)

May you have the day you deserve!
