This is a metal working project that I designed and built in 1968. It is all tool steel- hardened and ground all over. I estimated I have 40 hours of grinding in it to get it right on for center. I built this a year after I graduated from a Tool and Die apprenticeship at Teletype Corp in Skokie, Il. I checked a 1 1/2" piece and a 1/4" hole in it was within .0005" on center. I made set of drill bushings of the popular sizes that I used most and make a Bakelite block/holder for them with a Lexan cover. The little wrench fits in the holder and is made from 2 Allen wrenches that are silver soldered together. I made the 3/8-16 left hand threaded bolt that operates it and the LH tap to cut the threads in the bushing holder.
The last shot shows the accessory block that is ground to match the V in the fixture. With that, I can clamp it on the piece being drilled and slide the piece in the fixture to make all the holes parallel .

Sweet. Very clever. I always look at the pictures first, then read the post info. You answered the question I was going to ask when I looked at the first set of pictures.
