Kerfing plane from Stanley 45 spare parts
So I had some extra parts from my Stanley 45 hand plane.
I decided to make a Kerfing plane. They are helpful in cutting wood in that you use them first to score a cut line that you then follow with a panel saw.
I made this attachment to hold a piece of 6 tpi bandsaw blade.
I then assembled it to the extra pieces shown above.
Here's the assembly:

innovation at it's best. id just resaw it on my bandsaw ! 😏😁

Nice!. I always wondered why Stanley didn't a have a kerfing plane setup for the 45 or at least the 55.

Great way to re-purpose the plane parts, looks like it works well. Can't tell from the photos, can you still insert an iron in it with the new fence? Looks like it wood work, a dual purpose plane.

Thanks Jim! It's very useful. Especially when you handsaw the length of long lumber.
