What is it made out of? And what projects do you use this for?
1/8 inch thick walnut they are used to get the proportions correct and pleasing to the eye

Thanks Tony. I also found this from Wood magazine with some good applications to woodworking. I've always just gone with what dimensions I needed or what looked best to me.

I like the curves in it. Came out great. In the video you linked I wonder why he took the double stick tape off and added painters tape before he did the final shaping, sanding. And before drilling the holes.
