Looks great Tony, and I'm a big fan of the subject matter too!  Whenever I finally get a laser, I'd like to make one of Christ the Redeemer with the sun directly behind.
Tony!!!  Trying to help me spend $$. This site has already been so helpful on encouraging purchases...😁

Looks great Tony! I’m glad you’re enjoying it…they’re an awesome tool to have at your disposal! If you haven’t already, read up on bi-directional passes and grid passes. It can do some amazing things in grey scale!

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

They’re great to have at your disposal. I have a 10watt laser does a nice job engraving but a little too weak for cutting. I have been filling the engraving with colored epoxy to make it stand out.
its funny you say this George the project im working on has the fill in it which i can't show its  a swap item

Those look great! What settings are you using?

Jesus was set at 6000/60 and the deer was 6000/80 but wish i have done 60 on deer

You are evolving fast Tony!
Images are never easy. The checker boarding on the background (from the original image I imagine) usually can be removed with a photo editor by selecting the grayscale value and turning it to white.
Excellent burn , Tony.!!!!!!!! how long did it take to burn? Is it one pass? That is pretty fast speed!

Tony, Looks great. Another Trick I found to remove Checkerboard is paste it in not as an image into something like PowerPoint and then save that as an image to edit.
Lasers are a great amount of fun and give a whole new dimension to what can be done. Just have to keep reminding myself to go play on the Lathe to :)

Got the quick disconnect plugs in the mail finally yesterday and spliced a set onto the control wires for the new IR head. Now I can disconnect it when I swap to the diode head without worrying about wrecking the wire attachment points at the head. Of course I had to buy a pack of like 10 of them, so if anybody wants simple three-wire connectors, I’ve got extra! Let me know.

Focal length is too short to do anything useful with the laser head off the gantry (no cool laser rifle!).

Even too wide a spot to make for a good cat teaser, a laser pointer works better for that.
