Shaker Style Jelly Cabinet With Hutch

My first serious piece in cherry - now I'm hooked! Glass doors are not traditional, but client's wife wanted to show off her canned goods. All joints are mortise & tenon, but no pegs - client favored a cleaner look. Hand rubbed poly finish.
What makes me happy about this project? The client was happy with it! Also they decided to go with natural finish and let it darken with age
What challenges did I face? I was surprised to see how easy it is to tear out cherry wood. Lotsa scraper time
What did I learn? Be less aggressive when planing!
Anything else to share? The design is 100% original, according to client specs. I violated the Golden Ratio several times in the interest of accessibility for intended use and because it was sized to fit. If I were to do it again, I would likely go with inset doors and drawers

thank you for sharing your beautiful work, your exactly what we need here. i agree about cherry its a gorgeous wood that will just get better with age. i noticed on the drawers you did a small round over on the corners but didn't on the doors. any reason for this ? hope to see more of you. keep it coming.

working with my hands is a joy,it gives me a sense of fulfillment, somthing so many seek and so few find.-SAM MALOOF.

Looks fantastic!

The raised panels and corners everywhere really mix well. Glad you settled on "natural", makes working with cherry finishing soooo much easier.
Ya done good for your client!
Thanks!
Good eye! That was the result of a mistake, so I just ran with it. I made a point of showing it to the client because easing the door corners was easy peasy. Their response was they didn't notice it until I pointed it out. Well, OK!
yeah as woodworkers we notice things normal people dont.
