48" taper jig was 1st thing.
All the lines were scribed by hand, using rules and clamps to steer by.

Ends were drilled on the workbench, using the Oneway drill wizard. Head end started with a 1/4" forstner, then changing bits up to 3/4" , by 1/16" 's.

Bottom has a 1/4" x 20 TPI insert.

Cabuchon holes were drilled on the drill press.

Snake is segmented ring segments.

It's alive

I carved the skull , it's been in a drawer for 10 years.

Unusual, but a neat well done stick.

Do you grease the stick to stop it from reaching and fanging your hand?

If your first cut is too short... Take the second cut from the longer end... LBD

Walking with that stick will clear a crowd as you pass through!

Ha. Remarkable. After getting over the in-awe thing, my mind went to what you could make for something like this if you actually got paid for your time (design and build), materials and tools.
No thanks,Kelly! I do this for fun, I'm retired.
