Australian Light Horse Regiment

Back in Christmas 2024 The family gave me a Memorial bear Trooper Jones reflecting The Australian Light Horse Regiment
It was initially in a plastic box  as below.

As I had a military background and can build stuff I thought I could provide Trooper Jones with a more permanent display box .
ferretting around in all the bits and pieces I have stashed away I found enough raw materials to do him  justice

A display case capable of being opened from the bottom was my Idea that being having the ability to hide screws and reduce the profile of the edges.

I milled up some triangular material and cut grooves in it to hold the perspex sides.

with the skeleton of the box dry assembled I made an appropriate bottom

Dry Fitted everything together including trooper Jones

Happy everything would look OK I Inverted it and glued the top on then added the info sheet frame and screwed on the bottom on.

Why didn't I post it in May 2025? possibly forgot only to be reminded of my improvements after seeing Majuvla's the doll box Project.

And as a teaser in my kitchen is a parachuting bear too  just waiting for the grandkids to  see.
Geronimo!

Nothing like a little light humour!

Death from above!

Is he hanging from a neon?

If your first cut is too short... Take the second cut from the longer end... LBD

Yep  one of the last remaining fluorescent lights in the house
Its a T8 and reasonably attractive fitting and I have a couple of spare T8 tubes so it will stay a while

Good pickup!
