When you least expect your gone in a flash

Work hard, rise a family, maybe buy a home, enjoy retirement, then suddenly your gone in a fiery flash
Life's efforts possibly may have an unfair ending to them at times!

But as Derrin Hinch "says,  ..."Thats life"
I had a visit from a neighbour wanting to know if I could make a cap made for an urn to have some portions of ashes in.
All a bit morbid I thought as it was to be human remains, but I did offer to help.

I cut two blanks from my pallet stringers
I glued  them together and let them dry
Sanded the base plug to be an interference fit
Sanded the top to a reasonable profile to be a tight fit in the top lip, no top knob or any fancy detail.

Gave it a hit with sanding sealer and awaited his return to advise finishing requirements.
It was received as excellent  and no further work was needed.
I did advise not to test fit it as it may not be able to be easily removed.
Sometimes simple tasks get amazing  results.
Now back to my Credenza!

Regards Rob

Functionable, works, all as it should be.

I would have spent hours searching the home for something to fit, perhaps one of LBD's cask bungs?
Looks like your solution was a good track to take!

Quick and dirty!
