With all the activity in 3D printing (2.5K comments), this may only be pertinent to a select few 3D enthusiasts, but being the “animal” that I am, I thought I’d release some of it on the "other half" unsuspecting innocents.
The boffins at De Longhi must have had a meltdown or decided to replace their design personnel, by a bunch of Yankee college graduates as the designer of their PrimaDonna coffee machine was either a werewolf with sharp claws or sub-contracted the design to an intern that never drank coffee.
In my humble opinion, the machine is great, however, the attachment/detachment of their milk container suck… or not.
In all fairness, if one judiciously cleans the milk spout after every single use,
with wipe downs,
or application of lube.
and you are judicious, leave now, but as us mere males are not and even if you brew tea with a name like Moses (he brew) you may not be as vigorous as that Le Dinghi developer envisioned.... even the dead lemon felt inferior.
To remove the milk container
using the indentations
was an arduous tasks that resulted in broken fingernails (hence the werewolf reference) and surrendering to the dark side and brewing up a potta tea (ugh!).
Onto SketchUp, and designed a cradle/handle.
Printed it back in 2017… though a tad skewed, it fit and is still in use

Ducky, you are the master. It is sure nice to have the talent to design and build that part! You could advertise and sell them!!...saves broken nails and lot of frustration

Great "save"! I hate when some stupid simple part of an expensive whatsit fails. Many today would just junk everything, I'd weld on some rebar. Your fix looks stock and obviously is better engineered than the original!
Great come back. I think the my next big purchase is going to be a3D printer. There are so many things that you can print that can help you in not only in wood working but also in everyday life. You have just shown that here. in spades.
