Dachshund Carving

The Dachshund is made of  Popular and carved using power tools...Dremel flex shaft and Foredom Flex Shaft.  I did this as a reminder of my 16 year old Dachshund we lost earlier this year.

This is my first project back in the shop after being away for 4 months.  I can now walk on my left foot with normal shoes but still need my walker as I learn to walk again.  It is great to make sawdust again.
First return to shop project looks pretty nice.    Like it!

My first dog was a standard black and tan Daschie. His AKC name was Von Brock Von Huesenheiser. We didn't want to do that to him, so being as Dad brought him home Christmas eve, we called him Nick for St Nick. We had him for 18 years before he got so it was obvious he wasn't having a good time anymore, so we put him down, with the family standing around him. He was a great dog. Fearless even though he would have gotten eaten by most of the dogs he backed down. Only time he did get his butt whipped was by the neighbors 2 pound kitten. He was out of sorts for a week after that.

Anyhow to me it was obvious this was a Daschie, so good job there. So happy you are back in the shop. I am trying with great success one day, and almost total failure the next, no stamina still. Keep pushing it till you loose the walker, probably won't be long.
Dogs become part of the family.  The one we lost this year was 16 and miniature long haired Piebald.  She was my comfort dog.  Unfortunately, i.suffer from multiple orthopedic problems including lumbar fusion with chronic pain. She seemed to know when I was having major issues and would sit with me.
yes dogs feel our pain and know when we need them.  they give us all their love and ask for nothing in return. im gonna friggen melt away when my baby passes some day. hopefully we have several more years together. 😞
