Vase and Flower

Following Debbie’s flower theme, I have just completed this vase and flower scroll sawed project. The vase is based on a pattern by Steve Good (http://scrollsawworkshop.blogspot.ca/) with celtic overlays, pattern by Sheila Landry (http://www.sheilalandrydesigns.com/product/SLD494). The vase is scroll sawed from basswood with the sides made from fir and red cedar. The handles of the vase are black walnut. The overlays are black walnut and I added a seed pearl on each butterfly. The flower, based on a pattern by Steve Good is compound cut on the scroll saw with the petals, leaves and stem cut from maple. The centre piece of the flower is cocobolo.
Thank you for looking.

That’s clean and neat.

It’s very nice. I like how you orientated the grain all the way to the petals.
The wood combination also yielded some nice colors on the vase.

Great job!
