Because she asked?

When my darling wife asked me to make a passive speaker for a fundraiser silent auction for her singing group, how could I resist. I found a fantastic piece of QS red oak and a walnut cutoff with a great texture from the bandsaw that looked like they were made for each other. This must be why I hoard scraps of wood. Right?
I wanted to make a retro looking radio like unit that fits an iPhone 4,5,6,6+ and here is how it turned out. What a fun weekend project after a week of work in the woodshop, I enjoy just playing in the woodshop
Cheers?

I love the retro design. It would have been called futuristic when I was a kid.
