Are you worried about the Purple Heart turning brown? I have used it on a few pieces and had it change after a couple of years. Very nice work by the way.

Thanks, I guess, Bruce? It’s not hidden at all. I’m doing my steadfast best to put it on display, man! hahaha
Not especially, Thorreain. After 30+ years of woodworking, I’ve accepted that all the wondrous colors fade, no matter what we finish them with. Oxidation and the acidic oils from the player’s fingers will develop their own unique finish of the material over time. The color can be brought back in the future when it’s refretted, if so desired by the owner. Another beautiful trick of nature is that only the surface oxidizes; scrape the surface and the color is as vibrant as ever.

Thanks, Jim. This is my art. I’m most content when pushing the limits of the material and my skills. A bit of a sadomasochism I suppose.
