GARDEN LIGHT

This is a project I absolutely enjoyed making as it is a project for our garden and gives us joy during the day and also at night when we like to sit on our patio .
It is made from clear western red cedar and the light panels are house wrap (TYVEK )
which is very durable and just perfect for this application because it won’t shatter like glass and does not let moisture in . For the lighting I used a LED light that is operated by remote control .The finish is spar varnish and the post is painted and made from pine .

Wow! That’s sharp. Did you shoot any “in progress” photos? I’d like to see your joinery.

No I did not as this was the usual design as I built with no plan just a design I came up with but no plan .
I have made another for my daughter but it is a little different construction .
The panels are simple lap joint frames that have the grooves for the screen spline that hold the light panels cut in and the corners are mitred and the whole thing is glued with out door glue and no nails .
This one is made from pine but other then that it’s pretty much the same .

I like it ,it sure beats those plastic jobs that look like there from HF.

This looks super klaus. I love the color and finish too.

What a fantastic idea using tyvek and screen spline. I currently have a half roll left over from putting a screen panel set on my shop garage door, more to follow on that one. Great lights! The LEDs use so little energy and never get too hot. Well done.

Very classy and elegant looking. I’d have never thought of using Tyvek for light panels, will have to put that idea in the back of my brain somewhere for future reference.

Thanks for the kind comments I appreciate every one !
The house wrap ( TYVEK ) does work nice and is easy to install with screen spline and has a nice soft look .
