Decided to try the glass tile idea. Went to Home depot and purchased one of their glass tile squares that was on clearance just to see how hard it would be, and what the result would look like. Turned out pretty good on the Maple. I think it clashes a bit with the Cherry. I only had a spring loaded clipper thingy (technical terms) to cut the tile, so I scored it first, then snipped it. Worked okay, but could be cleaner. Tried to sand the edges smooth with the oscillating belt sander, which helped, but caused some chipping here and there.Need to find a different way to cut them to size more accurately with a smoother surface.
As always, thanks for looking, and have a great night!
