It is more than two years ago that I made the" CAT 966 wheel loader":https://woodworkingweb.com/creations/537-wheel-loader-cat-966 from T & J. I made some special wheels for it but it didn’t came out the way I had in mind. I kept thinking about how I could make the profile more like the real tire. It took me two years before I had an idea how this might be possible. When I was on a long car trip (for Dutch standards) I got a eureka moment .
Last week I gave it a try, and now I know it’s possible to do it like I had in mind. There are some shortcomings, and the next time I’m sure I will change the making process and also the profile should be different, but for now I’m satisfied.
Diameter of the wheels is approximately 92mm (almost 4”).
Thanks for watching.
