Several months ago I posted the Moxon type vice that I made. This has been a good vice for pieces that go through (pic1), but not good for small long pieces.(pic2).
To solve the problem I made the codpiece (pic3) that bolts to the clamping beam(pic4). This way when you close the main beam with the two hand screws and then tighten up the bottom crank small pieces do not move. Also I can now use my hammer for other things.
