YES, you can turn a flat blank, (solid or laminated blank) into deep bowl by cutting the blank to 3 or 4 rings 45 degrees toward its center as in photo #3. the distance between the cutting lines is equal to the thickness of the blank.and then glue them on the top of each other the way you like, as in photos # 1 or 5. The last step is to turn it to the shape you want. Here, I added extra rim to deepen and enhance the bowl.
