My son gave me some Pecan shorts. These were 1/2" and 1/4" thick, some spalted some not.
I was able to make this box from them. Out of the 1/4" piece i was able to cut 4 pieces being able to follow the grain around the box. See pic 2 and 3.
Box is finished with tung oil and then my home-made Danish furniture polish.https://woodworkingweb.com/creations/3372-danish-furniture
All in all a fun project.

Super clean, old school box in the Danish design camp. The grain is really beautiful. You nailed it.

There’s a store I pass by often and sometimes linger in the window that you would love. All Danish furniture. Very expensive place.

There is much thought and execution here… sometimes, it is the simple projects which contain so much of us…
Personally, I miss my days in northern Germany and Eastern Finland: many fine times, fine people, and the quality of life is … unique.
You Take Care.
