Birch and Walnut Jewelry Box
This one is very similar to the box I posted back in September. Yeah, it’s been since September that I posted anything. I started to build this then stopped. Had one of those unexpected and unfortunate things that happen in life that killed my mojo. It was nice to get back in the shop this weekend and finish what I started. Hopefully this will be the jumpstart I need to continue building boxes.
Anyway back to the box. This is made from curly birch and walnut. The lid panel is English walnut which is a beautiful compliment to the black walnut. The lid pull is curly walnut that compliments the curly birch. The laminated construction gives a unique look to the box joints used in the main box and removable trays. Finished in satin lacquer and lined in ruby red velvet.
