Not your ordinary table

My neighbor commissioned this special remembrance table in honor of his father that had recently pass away. . . . but he wanted a special feature allowing him to conceal a weapon “just in case”.

The walnut I used in the table was from his father’s shop. He had several boards and had kept them for over 20 years trying to decide what use them on. Well his son, my neighbor, decided this was the way to commemorate him.

Once deciding on a table design, fabrication could begin. Getting to roughly the mid-point of construction, my neighbor decides he wants to add a way to conceal a firearm but wanted it “convenient” to get to if needed. Took a little additional engineering and the help of a supplier that had the drop-down cylinders and the special magnet switch, we were a able to incorporate his request.

It has it all fine details ,elegant design and hidden drop down compartment.

The table is elegant as well as practical; a nice tribute to his father.
