Our little guy has become interested in percentages. At supper last night, he apparently was asking for 50% more of such-and-such and 20% more of something else.
So, I made something to help him understand the concept.
I made a glass of “milk” and a glass of “orange juice” (or maybe it is carrot juice). There are 10 pieces of each colour.
He can now explore percentage of full-ness, (20% full), adding percentage more (“pour in” 20% more), and divide the quantities into percentages of each (50% milk and 50% orange juice).
