3D Marquetry

Wow, that’s excellent! Do you use hot sand to do the shading? This looks fantastic, the 3D really pops. Great work.

Thank you for the compliment. I work with 3 different methods for the shadow. firstly with hot sand, secondly with a heat gun and thirdly with the flame of a gas soldering iron.

Interesting videos Uwe, I wish I understood German. I have never seen sand shading being done before cutting. I do all of mine after cutting

if we take the time it will go. I would also like to exchange experiences. If you do not understand something then ask again and again. So do I. These images and it is understandable.

Everything is clear in the videos Uwe.
We just use very different methods to achieve our similar marquetry results. I mostly meant that it would be nice to just be able to talk about it easily. If I have questions, I will ask. Please do the same.

Yes, that’s a shame shipwright. Unfortunately, we can not talk about it. I have not had time to look at your work. I’ll still show an image with a new 3D marquetry.
It is made from veneers and I have pictures of the steps.
