Sure what you got?
It's some repair work from some water damage.
I don't do repair work.
Well,  there's also a double sink vanity to build.
Do you have any pictures?
Yes, let me text them to you.
      This is the Bar,

     This is the Wall Unit:

OK,  those don't look too bad,  I'll come take a look.
Great,  and while your here I'll show you where we want the new vanity.

Drive across town,  here you go.

Not what I expected,
but that's OK,
No way I will try to put that mess back together,
but I will give them prices for rebuilding all new.

10,000 sq ft home, Insurance money,  Why the hell would the try to salvage old stuff?
(Tightwads trying to save a few bucks)  According to Zillow, it's a 5 million dollar home.
Sometimes I just don't get people.

Yeah,  well it's going to back fire when I give them prices.

They will probably go looking elsewhere,  because I'm going in high.
Price it like I don't want it and see what happens.

The referral came from a big company, (friends of mine) so I know they are already having trouble finding somebody,
to fix their "water damage"

Makes you wonder how they treated others, if they are constantly changing things in the process and hanging overhead in your way of working. So, yea give them a take it or leave it price.

Hello Sir,  This is Bently,
I'm sorry but I'm going to have to pass on this job,
There is no way I can re-assemble this furniture to an acceptable condition.
It would cost more than new if I was to attempt it, and there would be no guarantee or warranty.
Thank You for the opportunity to quote.

Thank You for being up front.  Could you please quote us prices for New?

Sure,  no problem that would be great,  I'll get back with you in a few days.

Now I will see how deep their pockets are.  Could be a festie in there for me in the end after all,
probably not,  maybe a Rigid?

Been down this road many times. Probably once or twice a year....usually water damage to some degree, but the last request was a price to 'repair' a big ass curved, open rise staircase with smoke damage AND water damage. LOLOLOLOL!!!
Errrrrr....no. 🤦‍♂️

“If you don’t make mistakes, you’re not working on hard enough problems.”

They had a toilet upstairs run over and no one was there for 2 weeks.
Sounds fishy to me,  All these big homes (like this) usually have someone coming or going all the time from maids to workers to other family.  Make me wonder.?
Giving them pricing for NEW  today.
(might be able to buy some Christmas gifts afterall)

Only pimps and drug dealers and wanna be gangsta's drive Hummers....Only unsmart people drive Tesla's.
Got me one of these. 😎
