I grew up in Holland, Michigan - my family (dad, brother and his family, etc) still live there.
Its a great place. Its gotten way busier over the last few years though. My wife and I both grew up here. Someday I'd like to move further north but we like it here

Holland is a pretty area. I grew up in the Jackson area, south of town on a lake. One of my daughters is living up in Spata now.

Sparta is a nice area as well. West Michigan in general is nice

Yes it is, just tired of the cold weather. One brother lived up in Freemont years ago, I would go up there as a kid and we would canoe down some of the rivers around there. I think my favorite was the White River, Newago County. Some fun times.

I was born not far from you in Grand Rapids. Another Dutchman. My dad and his brother had a pretty successful construction company in GR. Dad got sick of the snow, so on my 7th birthday, Dad sold out to his brother, then Mom & Dad packed up four kids and moved to Southern California. Been here ever since.
My uncle moved from here to San Diego years ago because of the snow! My wife and I both love the snow. Is the construction company still running in GR?
