While this is not a particular type of clamp per se, it does convert a particular type of clamp into a much bigger one.
I am not advocating the sole use of a particular clamp, however, I have found that say during a glue up, especially at the start, some clamps may be more conducive at the start of setup than while curing… albeit that extra length for a particular clamp. The rest of the setup can then be completed with less “friendly clamps”.
These are the extenders for the Bessey K-body clamps,
which were reviewed by me here. If I did extend my clamps, I would do it on the Bessey KREV (Vario) clamps, or those converted using the Bessy Variable jaws… that way the work could be centered between the handle and head jaw to balance the weight.
I may have made it known that I’m not a great fan of pipe clamps, however, I appreciate their purpose. I am a great fan of the Bessey REVO Vario clamps and though I don’t have the variety (all the lengths) I would like, I have used their extenders to extend their capacity to easy setup and once the work is held together, albeit semi loosely, I can then “butch” it out with the pipes.
unfortunately, they will only extend one set… and 1 out of 4 is of bugga all use... I got them for free, so I was not out of pocket, but still out of usable use.
I also wanted to let people know (as not everyone is aware), that there are extenders for the “smaller” quick-grip type of clamps, These will only fit certain models (and there heaps) of my Irwin Quick-Grip clamps,
Though there may be other qualified models on the market. They were package with a set I bought… however, I have sufficient variety of clams so I’ve never had a real need to use them… but be aware they exist.

If you have sufficient numbers, a set of extenders would be cheaper than the next appropriate size up. Naturally with the extenders it would not be as stable as the stand alone, but at a pinch it could be a viable alternative.
At least now you could never say, “I haven’t been aware of them”.
