Cutting Barn wood

OK, I am stumped and need some input.
The find: I recently purchased 2 pieces of vintage 12-inch 4x4 walnut barn wood beam.
The project: I would like to cut these into half inch slices.
The problem: This wood has become so dense that all of standard shop blades are a NOGO.
My idea: Purchase a metal cutting blade for the bandsaw.
Your ideas: Please help

hmmm, a good quality band saw blade should be able to do it. ive sliced cocobolo and ipe with mine many times and that stuff is very hard and dense !

working with my hands is a joy,it gives me a sense of fulfillment, somthing so many seek and so few find.-SAM MALOOF.

How many teeth/inch blade did you try?

If you don't have enough gullet/clearance for the blade to pull out the waste, it will clog up and really perform bad, no matter the wood.

It seems like you should be trying a 3-4 TPI blade.

A metal blade is definitely out, very fine teeth.
yeah a metal blade is a no !
