Haven’t been able to get out to the “Wood Shop” in a while. Fighting sinus crud and the weather’s been a bit chilly, for this Texan. Forties and drizzle. The 30 by 40 foot, uninsulated hangar, is not easy to heat up, so I’ve not ventured out. Being out of town a few days hasn’t helped.
So, to “help” I’ve been enjoying looking at the beautiful creations that are shared on this sight. I’ve only seen a small sampling, so far, but I’m amazed at the collective talents that are evident on this site. Those that have never turned raw wood into a finished item, do not know the feeling when stepping back and admiring the finished item, or the smiles and thank you’s of a gift well received. Can’t forget to mention, the feeling of contentment at the completion of the most advanced technique to the simplest.
If I had been smart, I would have sectioned off an area, in the hangar, insulating it so as to make it more comfortable, then I would be out there despite the cold and heat. Until the weather improves, and I feel better, I’ll be content to sit in front of the fire, admiring the wonderful creations shared by my woodworking “family.”
In closing, thanks to everyone who has shared a creation, a technique, a jig or fixture, a blog, a forum, you keep building my desire to make dust and chips. Now, it’s time to get back to the “porn.”
Happy Wooding!

It was 30s and raining a couple of weeks ago and I had the garage door open. Felt like a heat wave up here.
Losing fingers since 1969
Yeah my garage was open still at 5 above. A not. Lol but I do know what you’re talking about Brian. I guess its northern thing. Lol

I hope you feel better soon man. I did make a space in my shop for times just as you described, now when I can’t work I am still surrounded by my favourite toys in the shop, but outside their is a nine yes nine foot snow drift that touches the roof and we are getting another storm today. My wifey has us painting the inside of the house even with the risk of power outages. I just shake my head, " yes dear".

Have rebounded and have been out in the shop. Young friend asked if I could make a “Blended Family” sign for her (she’s getting remarried on the 7th and has one child, two adopted and the new husband’s kiddo), I said “Sure!” Using some reclaimed pallet wood, and this is the concept.
Going to use the vinyl cutter to cut masks for painting the lettering and frame it with redwood. She’s been involved in the design, so it’s not a secret. Won’t have it ready by the 7th, but I can’t be up that way, anyway. :-(
