Simple drift wood stool
for the allotment fire pit

A couple of years ago I found a piece of drift wood in Copenhagen harbour and took it with me. It ended up in the allotment, where it just stood and laughed at me. Until this summer where I looked at it on a beautiful sunny day, birds singing, elder flowers in blossom and me with a wood working itching in my hands – so I saddled up the good old shaving horse, found some pine roof rafters and started making shavings, until I had four legs… well six, ten, ahhh stop MaFe, I had two legs, the shaving horse four and now I had four legs on the loose, so they had to find a home, before they would run away…

Pictures:
1. Reaming the leg holes.
2. Tapering the ends.
3. Making it level.
4. Waiting for fire.
5. Stool after natural dye.
6. Last week in the winter cold.

Hope it can be to some inspiration, or bring life to old driftwood.

Nice one. And that’s definitely my kind of cooking! Next you need a good spoon. :-)
