Backlit Honeycomb Serving Board

I've always wanted to make an epoxy & wood honeycomb serving board so I finally did! But of course I had to take it a step further and make it luminescent. Bring on the dinner parties!!

I first batched out about 50 hexagons using my homemade hexagon cutting jig. I build a mold and laid them out in a honeycomb pattern using hot glue and spacers, then poured some epoxy with a little white pigment into the voids to create the honeycomb pattern.

I built a simple base tray with mitered corners and a floating bottom panel. Added the LED strips within. The tray has a very slight lip that creates a cradle for the honeycomb board. As such it can easily be removed to be washed.
