Project Information
well here is this years christmas gift for the ladies at our office, every year i do something different,i just hate giving a gift card,so impersonable and says i really dont want to waste my time.i did 8 sets of grinders with a base.kits were from penn state.there one handed grinders that you just press with your thumb.wood used is cocobolo for the grinder and a solid 4"x8" cocobolo base with rubber feet.the grinders were finished with friction polish on the lathe and the bases were just given a coat of arm r seal.i had more pic's showing the progress but they seem to have gotten lost in cyber space.any questions or just wanna tell me they suck are welcome.

Those are nice,  great gifts.
I like how you put then in front of a mirror to make it look like you made a bunch of them.
Love cocobolo.....

Figuring out how to do something you have never done is what makes a good challenge.

thanks bent,you funny man.

Nice gifts Pottz!

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

Very unique and the handmade makes them even more special!

Thanks for the input, I have done grinders in the past, larger ones.

Main Street to the Mountains

They're cool pottzy, nearly as nice as your last batch....

But how do you know which is the pepper and assuming the other might be the salt? MY grinders make sawdust or sparks... I normally don't label them to see which is which... unless I use them in the dark.

If your first cut is too short... Take the second cut from the longer end... LBD

I remember those.

Very very nice!

I really like them. Do you have a pattern you use and about how long does it take you to make a set. Looks like it would take forever if you didn't have some sort of assembly line. Excellent job.  Mike
i made the first one than created a template so they would all be the same. it took awhile to get em all done.i got quite fast after the first 10-lol.
