Entertainment Center Curly Babinga

Made this entertainment center for friends. They bought the curly Babinga. 3,600$ if I remember. The slab was 16 feet long and over 60" at the wide end and 50 something as the small end. I went over that board for weeks to figure out the best places to cut into it..

This is built in, but can be removed if they want to move it. Top was cut using a template I made then sanded to the line. Fit is real nice. The box on top of it was a gift made with some of the left over. There is a shelf above that took up all the left over (big stuff) but I hate the corbels so I'm not showing that.

Made the doors on my router table.

BTW I could not resaw this stuff too curly. (for me anyway)

Finish is wipe on poly.

Thanks for looking

Beautiful piece, and well crafted.

Great work. It must have been scary cutting into that slab the first time.

The early bird gets the worm but its the second mouse that gets the cheese.

Beautifully done.  Imagine it is even better to see in person.

Shipwright- I stared at the slab for a good two weeks, also marking where the cuts would go etc.
